A Day Of Remberance

On this final Monday of May we are reminded of those that gave their life to serve. From the time of our Civil War to and through this day we commemorate all of the lives that are lost to the efforts of war. No matter what name that might have been given to that war. 

Memorial Day 2013

What drives a person to serve our country in such a way? Pride? Integrity? Love of country? Selfish-less? Gratitude? Need to help others? Courage? Faith? Right thing to do? Ability to sacrifice? No matter what it is we should always be thankful for those that do serve. We must do this. Let's never turn our backs from these brave souls.

Not to many of us like to see our family members nor friends go off to fight for some cause. But they do, and it is our responsibility to give them every bit of support that we can muster. We can support those serving and still hate the battle.

Today, May 27, 2013 we give our thanks and gratitude to all those that gave their life to give us our ability to live as we do.

Memorial Day 2011

Keepers of the Peace


Beginning with the end of our Civil War in the USA, good people have honored those that have given their life to make sure that we have freedom. They have suffered for us. Their families have endured the pain of lost. Their friends have cried because they will not see them anymore. 

We have this holiday because of those that have died for us not because someone decided it is a good time of the year to give employees some time off. Yes, we will have get-togethers with family and friends. Eat a lot. Play a lot. Laugh a lot. There will be parades. And we will enjoy our day.










During your celebrations remember what this day really means: those that died for YOU.

Thank You For All You Have Done and All You Do

Did you know that Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day? I didn't. I do now. Memorial Day honors all of our men and women that have lost their lives defending our rights and freedoms. It was enacted to honor the Union fallen warriors of the Civil War. Interesting history about this day so if you would like to read more go here:

Yes, this is a holiday here in the United States. Many will be traveling. Many will be having cook-outs with family and friends. Many will be sad. Many will remember their loved ones that have fallen and their loved ones that are now in harms way. But let us not forget exactly why it is a holiday. 

Let us remember those that have fallen and give respect with honor. But, also let us remember those that are now serving us by being thankful that they give so much.
