Don't Be Part Of The 75%

The below article is taken from Dick Innes's "Daily Encounter" newsletter. I think the first sentence is horrible. If you are an American citizen you need to vote. If you are not registered, you need to register by Oct. 4th. It takes only about 4 minutes on line to register. Please don't be part of the 75% who don't go to the booths to voice their opinion.

"Are you aware that “less than 60% of people who attend church are registered to vote—only 1 in 4 actually does” (

That's why Washington thinks it can get away with taking over private industry, ignoring a skyrocketing national debt, brushing off soaring unemployment, turning healthcare on its head. Remember ever since it was voted to remove the Bible from schools, the U.S. has been on a moral decline. It is absolutely imperative that every American Christian vote on November 2.

To vote you have to be registered. There are only 8 days left to register to vote …. Be sure to register before October 4. You can register online at:

And be sure to vote on November 2, and

Vote Your Values:
“Educate Yourself on Election Issues: The website is a great place to start.

“Pick Your Party: Consider how each political party's views on moral issues line up with your core values.

“Choose a Candidate: Know what the candidates stand for. Weigh the candidates' values against the life principles found in God's Word, and choose the candidates whose views most closely match Scripture.

Pray for the Election. Election Day is fast approaching, and there is much at stake. In many ways, the future of our nation hangs in the balance. We encourage all concerned Christians to devote themselves to focused prayer for the election and for our nation.”1

There are at least five good reasons why Christians should vote:
  1. God has granted us authority. All authority belongs to God, but He has put human beings on the earth as caretakers. What is our task? We are to obey God in every area of life. This includes politics. It is imperative the every Christian makes godly decisions about government, and promote the efforts of, and vote for those who are already doing so.
  2. We need to stand against evil. St. Augustine said those who are citizens of God's kingdom are best equipped to be citizens of the kingdom of man. The alternative is unthinkable. In the 20th Century, atheistic and secular humanistic leaders gained control of nations all across Europe, Asia and Africa. What was the result? According to historian R. J. Rummel, almost 170 million men, women and children have been brutally murdered by these governments, all in the name of human progress. These facts led historian John Hallowell to note,

“Only through a return to faith in God, as God revealed Himself to man in Jesus Christ, can modern man and his society find redemption from the tyranny of evil.”
  1. Christian values contribute positively to society. The Bible’s solutions make sense. It is Christian involvement in government through the ages that gave us hospitals, civil liberties, abolition of slavery, modern science, the elevation of women, regard for human life, great works of art and literature, a workable system of justice, education for common people, the free-enterprise system, and much, much more.

When we see the good that results from applying God's principles, and the horror that results from rejecting them, doesn't it seem cruel and irresponsible to keep Jesus’ teachings about truth, love and compassion to ourselves? At very least, we should vote to keep OUT of office those who attempt to oppose God's authority.
  1. Obedience to authority demands good citizenship. The Apostle Paul in Romans, Chapter 13, clearly states that we must obey governmental leaders because all authority comes from God. Here's the catch: in America, the people are the leaders! Here, at least, we express our obedience to God by exercising our rights and privileges as citizens. That means voting.
  2. Good citizenship sets an example for generations to come. Those who apply God's principles to government pave the way for generations of blessing. In 1768 a Christian minister named John Witherspoon became president of the College of New Jersey, now Princeton. While there he taught biblical principles of government to his students.

Of the 478 young men who were graduated during his tenure, writes author John Eidsmoe, “114 became ministers; 13 were state governors; 3 were U. S. Supreme Court judges; 20 were U.S. Senators; 33 were U. S. Congressmen; Aaron Burr, Jr. became Vice-President; and James Madison became President.”

As a Christian, Witherspoon exerted an enormous influence on the direction of American government.
Tragically, the alternative to voting for candidates with high moral values is to slip further down the road to abortions, same sex marriage, separation of church and state, kicking God out of our schools, etc., etc.
Christians of America wake up and vote. And stop voting for politicians who have a desire to take away more and more of our freedom. Stop voting for politicians who have been in government so long, they no longer know the difference between right and wrong. Stop voting for politicians who vote to kill our babies. Stop voting for politicians who vote to take your freedoms away from you. Stop voting for politicians who talk well, look better, but do nothing but destroy our country from the inside out. We live in America the beautiful.

It is time to stand up and vote for candidates who want America to continue to have freedom for her people. The fight begins this November. November will be the time we vote for new faces to take over old faces in the Congress and Senate. Check out these people closely. Don’t vote for empty promises. Empty promises mean nothing because they are nothing.
Vote for candidates who will stand up for our country. Vote for candidates who will stand up for our constitution. Vote for candidates who will stand up for unborn babies. Vote for candidates who will stand up for our freedom. Vote for candidates who will stand up for freedom of religion (not freedom of worship as this is not freedom of religion). Yes, freedom for Christian people too. Vote for candidates who will look you in the eye and say Merry Christmas. Vote for candidates who respect God and country. Vote for candidates who are not politically correct.  Vote for candidates who are against government control. Vote for candidates who believe the United States Government is “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

It is time to vote with your convictions and morals in mind. Yes, I am talking to all the Christian people in the U.S.A. If you want to continue to worship your God in this country with freedom of religion, you had better vote for people who respect Christianity."

Yes, I Remember

This is a video version of the poem "Meet Me In The Stairwell" by Stacey Randall. It was made into a song titled "I Was There". The poem was written in relation to where was God during this time.

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news
On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.'
I held his fingers steady as he dialed.
I gave him the peace to say, Honey, I am not going to make it,
but it is OK...I am ready to go.

'I was with his wife when he called
as she fed breakfast to their children.
I held her up as she tried to understand his words
and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help.
'I have been knocking on the door
of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan.
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.
Some sought Me with their last breath.

Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day.
You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were;
there in that explosive moment in time,
would you have reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you.
But someday your journey will end.
And I will be there for you as well.

Seek Me now while I maybe found.
Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Do you remember what you were doing on 9-11-2001?
I remember exactly what I was doing and where I was. I also remember too vividly the feelings that swelled up inside of me as I watched the horrific screens that kept coming up on the TV. The feelings that escaped through tears of pain, fear and disbelief.
Yes, I remember!!!!!!

My prayers are still with you...
